Description
Up for your consideration is a sharp looking 50-Reichspfennig Aluminum coin from the German Third Reich. It was minted in 1939, there was 5,000,000, minted in Berlin. This would have been the first yearof the new design 50 pfennig coin appeared.
Has the " A", mint mark on the number side of the coin which means it was minted in Berlin Germany.
The aluminum coins did not ware all that well because the metal was soft, but they kept making them until 1944.
This example
has a mint luster look to it. This is a problem free coin, doesn't appear to have been clean, it should grade as a AU. It has a crisp sharp detail with a bit of a shine to it. This is several grades above what is on ebay for a 1939-A, a
50-Reichspfennig aluminum.
This coin is in really nice shape for its age. Well worth adding to a collection as a point of historical interest and a real eye catcher.
